I love Hebrews 12:4. "In your struggle against sin you have not yet resisted to the point of shedding your blood." If you continue to read, this passage shows that the Lord disciplines the one He loves (Hebrews 12:6). Back to verse 4; what if it said, resisted to the point of 'fleeing.' This is not that hopeful; You have probably fleed or removed yourself from a temptation before. Do whatever it takes. This is the attitude behind the verse. Definitely hopeful. There is always something more you can do.
Thinking, desiring, behaving, feeling, believing, situations, and relationships all matter in the fight against pornography.
Building up patterns of new thoughts, replacing desires, new behavioral responses, feeling conviction instead of condemnation, sexual morality instead of sexual immorality, new situational schedule, designed to love more than need love, all are important. The goal with pornography addiction is not just sobriety, but living out God's design for your life.
You are loved by God as son or daughter. The more you know the love of God, the more you want to do the love of God.
