Asking for Help and Maturity

When you are struggling with an addiction, you get some help, hoping one day you won't struggle. You ask, "What can I do?"

Sometimes what needs to change is not just your presenting problem, but how you see change.

Ask for help. Why is this important? What needs to change (addiction) must go through the how of change (asking for help). The benefits of sobriety are more than cessation from a habit; they are the practices of loving people, where before you waited on them to love you. Feeling controlled by thoughts, where now you are able to take them captive. Struggling by yourself, to now asking for help; And much more.

As a Christian, you grow into asking for help, and never grow out of it, always practicing the how of change (Galatians 6:2, Hebrews 10:25). If you find yourself sober and still asking for help, then keep on! The what of change has been accomplished through the how.
